Of course she was going to notice the shimmering- if Rumia hadn’t been observant then she wouldn’t have survived as long as she has, the darkness youkai notes it for later to mull over more in-depth, for now it’s simply a threat and one she has no intent of walking into at that. Her hands stay at her sides, tense and readied as always- as ever.
“My name is Rumia, and as of the moment I’m currently in the midst of deciding whether or not it’s a pleasure to meet you as well, I suppose~ I’ll let you know when, hm~? For the time being you’ll have to excuse~ my rudeness; for I am of course~ older than I look as you said- and you don’t get to my~ age without a healthy dose of paranoia~.”
As Rumia’s arms failed to move, Rachel quirked a brow, but dropped her arm down to her side, seemingly unaffected, their face still jovial as ever as they listened to you with seemingly eager interest. You clearly didn’t trust her, and whilst she felt very much the same way about Rumia, she found it always helped to keep up an air of foolishness around those whom you didn’t trust.
“Rumia, hmm?~ I’ll be sure to keep that name in mind~ And your rudeness is naturally excused~ But I’m surprised a yokai as old as you is so paranoid! After all, I would have thought you would fear from nothing, if you were truly powerful~” There is a teasing to her voice, attempting to bait you into a response. She was probing for information, attempting to get you to respond emotionally, rather than thinking.
"Hm~... You're older than you look. Though, I suppose that's normal around here, isn't it~?" -- EX-Rumia (I-I couldn't think of which muse I wanted to ask)
“How observant you are~ Yes, I am older than I look, though I suspect that you are much the same, no?~”
As they questioned the blonde, they extended out a hand, their tattooed wrist becoming visible from beneath their sleeve as they did so, their skin shimmering as if struggling to remain in form. It had been a long day, and their illusions were starting to slip, which was most unfortunate for them. They would have to reapply them soon.

A few minutes later, Rachel was outside your dorm window, throwing small stones at it from the tree branch she was perched upon. She grinned at you through the window, her tails waving behind her as she did so.
